On 21 October 1975 twenty-four people from Koumaros living in Athens signed the founding act, and on 18 May 1976 the court approved the statute. Since then the Association has built its hall and dozens of works in the village, organised hundreds of trips, feasts and celebrations, and kept those who live away close to Koumaros.
